Ashis Sinha I JNS: IIT-ISM ranking has experienced an increase of over twofold this year. Around 450 students of IIT-ISM have been placed while placement is going on, informed an official.
Within the last two days, around 450 students got the placements though we assume more than 500 students will be placed this year, said Rajni Singh, Media Cell Chairperson, IIT ISM.
“On an average package of Rs 25 to 27 lakhs the companies have hired out students while Google has given the maximum package of 54.57 lakhs to one of our student,” she added.
Right now, the placement procedures are going on; around 134 students who got jobs through free placements in only two days, she said
So far B Tech Computer Science students have been in the highest demand; around 51 students of B Tech have been got placements. After this, 47 students of B. Tech Electronics and Communication department have been placed. Around 26 students of B.Tech Electrical and 26 of Petroleum have been selected.
Notably, ISM was established in the British era in Dhanbad is now going to complete one hundred years of its life. It was inaugurated on 9 December 1926 on the lines of Imperial College of London’s Royal School of Mining. After a long struggle and agitation of the students, ISM was given IIT status on 10 August 2016 by the Narendra Modi government.
An alumnus of IIT ISM has achieved a great achievement. Pankaj Satija, a B Tech student (1994) from Mining Engineering from ISM Institute, has been appointed as Managing Director (MD) of Tata Steel Mining.
The IIT-ISM management has congratulated him on his behalf on this achievement. At the same time, congratulations and best wishes have been given to the students who got placement.
