Air India Flight Bound for New York Makes Emergency Landing in New Delhi Due to Bomb Threat

New Delhi: An Air India flight bound for New York was forced to make an emergency landing in New Delhi on Monday morning following a bomb threat, according to media reports.

Flight AI119, which was en route from Mumbai to John F. Kennedy International Airport, was diverted to Indira Gandhi International Airport after receiving a specific security alert. A total of 239 passengers and crew members were onboard.

An Air India spokesperson confirmed, “Flight AI119 operating from Mumbai to JFK on October 14 received a specific security alert and, on instructions from the government’s security regulatory committee, was diverted to Delhi. All passengers have disembarked and are currently at the Delhi airport terminal.”

Upon landing, the aircraft was directed to an isolation runway where security agencies, including a bomb squad, conducted a thorough inspection. The investigation into the threat is ongoing, with authorities working to ensure the safety of all involved.
