Bokaro: Bihar’s Industry and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra rallied support for BJP candidate Biranchi Narayan in Bokaro on Sunday, emphasizing the need for an NDA government in Jharkhand to ensure the state’s all-round development. Speaking to a large crowd of Maithils at Maa Ambe Garden in Sector 2, Mishra urged voters to back Narayan, who has served as the MLA of Bokaro for two terms, calling him a “popular and clean leader.”
Mishra highlighted the benefits of a “double-engine” government, referring to the BJP-led administration at both the state and central levels. “If an NDA government is formed in Jharkhand, the people of this state will surely benefit,” he said. He criticized the current Jharkhand government, calling it inefficient, and stressed the importance of a BJP-led coalition for Jharkhand’s progress and prosperity.
Aurangabad MP Sushil Singh also addressed the gathering, stressing the need for unity and a strong BJP government to safeguard the nation’s values. He appealed to the people of Bokaro to support the BJP candidate, assuring that a united effort would lead to the protection of “Indianness.”
Outgoing MLA also took the stage to discuss his achievements during his two terms as Bokaro’s representative. He pointed out the underutilization of the newly completed Bokaro airport, blaming the current Jharkhand government for not starting flight operations. “If the NDA government is formed in Jharkhand, we will ensure that flights from Bokaro start within a month,” Narayan promised. He also outlined future plans, including the establishment of a government engineering college, a 100-bed ESI hospital, and a law college, if re-elected.
The event saw contributions from various community leaders, including Neeraj Chaudhary, General Secretary of the Mithila Cultural Council, and Mantosh Pathak, representing the 60 Gharia Maithil Brahmins of Bokaro.
The event followed traditional Mithila customs, with the guests being welcomed with turbans and dupattas. Former BPSCL CEO Kumud Kumar Thakur, Mithila Cultural Council President KC Jha, and other prominent figures honored the guests during the ceremony. Singer Arun Kumar Pathak also performed a melodious welcome song in Maithili.
The stage was managed by Sunil Mohan Thakur, while senior BJP leaders, including Indra Kumar Jha, Ritu Rani Singh, Mihir Kumar Jha Raju, and others, attended the rally alongside a large crowd of supporters.
