Bokaro: The much-anticipated “SAIL Cricket Championship 2024-25” kicked off at Bokaro Steel Plant on November 26, 2024. The tournament, aimed at promoting sports within SAIL, is being held from November 26 to 30 at the Sector 4 Cricket Stadium and Trainees Hostel Ground No. 01, with eight teams from various SAIL units participating.
The opening ceremony was attended by Executive Director (HR) Rajshree Banerjee, who inaugurated the championship.
Key officials including Chief General Manager (City Administration) Kundan Kumar, General Manager (Public Health) A.K. Avinash, General Manager (Liaison & Administration) CRK Sudhanshu, and Assistant General Manager (S&CA) Subhash Rajak were also present, along with DGM (Sports) Saurabh Shukla, who is overseeing the event.
The first day of the competition saw thrilling league matches. In an exciting opener, Rourkela Steel Plant triumphed over VISL Bhadravati by 70 runs, while ISP Burnpur defeated Durgapur Steel Plant by 5 wickets in the second match.
The tournament aims to not only highlight the cricketing skills of the players but also promote teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
Enthusiasm is high as the competition progresses, with the final match scheduled for 30 November.
