Ranchi: Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday, marking the beginning of his second consecutive term. This also marks his fourth debut as Chief Minister of the state.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, where Soren took the oath alone. The expansion of the state cabinet is expected to take place at a later date.
The event was attended by several prominent political leaders from across the country. Key figures included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, NCP President Sharad Pawar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President.
Other notable attendees included Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, and CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya.
The ceremony also saw the presence of several key political figures, including Uddhav Thackeray, President of Shiv Sena (Uddhav), former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Uday Stalin, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Bihar MP Pappu Yadav, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.
Soren’s re-election comes at a time of political significance, with a host of regional leaders coming together to show solidarity and support for his leadership in Jharkhand.
