Dhanbad: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) held its first outreach program at New Town Hall, aimed at connecting students and teachers from four districts to the opportunities offered by NIFT.
During the event, NIFT’s Director General, Tanu Kashyap, highlighted the institution’s role in empowering students and providing them with skill-based career opportunities. She announced that the submission deadline for the upcoming entrance exam is 6 January 2025, with the exam scheduled for 9 February.
This year, the exam will be available in both English and Hindi, and around 5000 new students will be offered enrollment across various streams. Scholarships will also be available for meritorious students of all categories.
Kashyap also noted NIFT’s widespread presence with campuses in 19 cities, including Varanasi, Srinagar, and Mumbai.
Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra emphasized the institute’s role in providing a platform for creative students, offering guidance and training in fashion technology. She encouraged students to explore the vast opportunities in fashion and textiles, urging them to absorb the insights shared during the outreach program.
The event also featured insights from NIFT alumni and industry professionals, Mukesh Kumar and Doman Tudu, who shared their career experiences.
The program was attended by NIFT Patna Director Colonel Rahul Sharma, Dr. Vijay Dua, Assistant Director Social Security Niaz Ahmed, District Education Officer Nishu Kumari, and a large number of students and teachers.
