Kuwait: During a meeting on Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in several key sectors, including pharmaceuticals, IT, FinTech, infrastructure, and security. The leaders signed several agreements aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Modi shared his thoughts on social media, stating that India and Kuwait have elevated their bilateral partnership to a strategic level, expressing confidence that the relationship will continue to flourish in the future.
The discussions between the two leaders highlighted the long-standing, friendly ties between India and Kuwait. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing and expanding cooperation across various domains. In this context, they agreed to upgrade the bilateral relationship to a “Strategic Partnership.”
Prime Minister Modi also expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir for ensuring the welfare of the over one million-strong Indian community in Kuwait. In response, the Amir praised the significant contributions of the Indian community to Kuwait’s development.
Modi further appreciated Kuwait’s ongoing initiatives to fulfill its Vision 2035 and congratulated the Amir on the successful hosting of the recent GCC Summit. Additionally, he thanked His Highness for inviting him as the ‘Guest of Honour’ at the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup.
The Amir reciprocated the sentiments, commending India’s valuable role as a key partner in Kuwait and the wider Gulf region.
