Bokaro: The 15th annual Chinmaya Alumni Meet of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro concluded in grand fashion, organized by the Chinmaya Alumni Association Bokaro Chapter. This year, the event also celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the 1999 batch. Alumni from across India and abroad were welcomed at the school’s entrance with a recitation from the Bhagavad Gita, followed by a procession to the Chinmaya Saptarishi Bhawan.
The main program began with the lighting of the lamp by key dignitaries, including Chinmaya Mission’s Acharya Swamini Sanyuktananda Saraswati, School President Biswaroop Mukhopadhyay, Secretary Mahesh Tripathi, Treasurer R N Mallick, Principal Suraj Sharma, Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar, and the newly elected MLA of Bokaro, Shweta Singh. A welcome song by current students set the tone for the event.
Principal Suraj Sharma addressed the gathering, highlighting the school’s remarkable achievements, including becoming Jharkhand’s first NABET-certified school. He acknowledged the alumni’s success, noting the school’s role in shaping their careers and its growing prominence in education. He also highlighted initiatives by the Chinmaya Alumni Association, such as the Chinmaya Smile Back and Pratibha Poshan programs, which support underprivileged students.
The 1999 batch was honoured with mementos and certificates. Alumni shared heartfelt memories of their school days, reflecting on the school’s role in their success. The event featured cultural performances, and the alumni were impressed by the school’s continued progress. Distinguished guests, including former principals and other key figures, were honoured during the celebration.
