Sindri: The Fifth Inter-College Cricket Tournament kicked off at Sindri Mahavidyalaya Sindri with a thrilling first semi-final between Sindri College Sindri and PG Department BBMKU. The event, organized from January 11 to 15, 2025, saw a vibrant inauguration with Dr. Pushpa Kumari, DSW of Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University, as the chief guest. Dr. K.K. Pathak, Principal of Sindri Mahavidyalaya, welcomed Dr. Kumari with a bouquet, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari conducted the ceremony.
Dr. Pushpa Kumari, in her address, emphasized the importance of cricket, stating that the sport plays a crucial role in India’s growth. The competition began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, and four teams—PG Department BBMKU, Sindri Mahavidyalaya Sindri, Chas College, and Guru Nanak College—registered for the tournament.
In the first innings, PG Department BBMKU won the toss and opted to bat, setting a target of 139 runs by scoring 138/6 in their 15 overs. In response, Sindri Mahavidyalaya achieved the target with a score of 140/5, securing a spot in the final.
The second semi-final between Guru Nanak College, Dhanbad, and Chas College, Chas, is scheduled for 10 am on Friday.
