Navy officer, IB personnel among 27 killed in Pahalgam terror attack. The deceased 26-year-old Indian Navy officer, Lt Vinay Narwal, got married four days ago in Haryana’s Karnal. According to reports, the IB officer was killed infront of his wife.
Pahalgam: In a significant development following the brutal terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists in Bysaran Valley, Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday unveiled the first sketches of the suspected perpetrators. The attack, which took place in the scenic valley, has sent shockwaves across the nation.
According to officials, the responsibility for the massacre has been claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a terror outfit linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. Police sources revealed that the attack was carried out by a group of four militants, two of whom have been positively identified.
The identified terrorists include Saifullah Kasuri, also known by his alias Khalid, a top Lashkar commander, and another operative reportedly based in Rawalkot. Names of other suspects—Asif Fauji, Suleman Sah, and Abu Talha—have also surfaced during the ongoing investigation.

The sketches, prepared with the help of eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage, depict the assailants dressed in military fatigues and armed with assault weapons—details consistent with witness reports from the day of the attack.
A massive joint search operation led by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police is currently underway in Anantnag and its adjoining areas. Authorities have appealed to the public to share any relevant information that could aid in locating the suspects.
Meanwhile, intelligence agencies are actively probing the TRF’s operational network in Pakistan in a bid to uncover the identities of the remaining terrorists and prevent further strikes.
The release of the sketches is part of intensified efforts by security forces to track down the culprits and bring them to justice.
