Ferozepur: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, PK Singh, was taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers on Wednesday after he accidentally crossed the international border in Punjab’s Ferozepur district while on duty.
According to officials, the incident occurred during a routine deployment of BSF personnel who were providing security to farmers harvesting crops near the border. In the process, one of the jawans mistakenly crossed over and was apprehended by the Pakistani side.
Images circulating in Pakistani media show the detained jawan — one with a blindfold and another where he is seen holding an AK-47 rifle and a water bottle.
There is no official word yet on his release. A senior BSF officer confirmed that a flag meeting has been requested to negotiate the jawan’s safe and prompt return.
The situation remains tense, with diplomatic channels expected to be engaged if necessary.
