His outstanding success has brought pride not only to his school but also to Bokaro Steel City and the entire state.
Anurag, a member of the 2012 batch at DPS Bokaro, excelled in all stages of the examination, which took place from June 21 to 23, 2024, followed by the IES Personality Test in December.
His achievement has been celebrated by the entire school community, with Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar extending heartfelt congratulations. Dr. Gangwar commended Anurag’s accomplishment as another testament to the school’s commitment to providing a strong academic foundation for its students and called his success an inspiration for others.
Anurag’s journey began with a strong academic foundation at DPS Bokaro, where he was an active participant in co-curricular activities. He chose Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in class 11 and later completed his MSc in Economics from IIT Kharagpur. Growing up with the aspiration to succeed in UPSC exams, Anurag’s dedication to his studies, coupled with his passion for music—playing the guitar and tabla—has shaped him into the achiever he is today.
His proud parents, Anupam Kumar, an officer at Bokaro Steel Plant, and Kumari Sangeeta, a housewife, have been a constant source of support throughout his journey. Anurag’s exceptional achievement in the UPSC IES Examination stands as a shining example of perseverance and dedication.
