Azerbaijan Airlines Passenger Plane Crashes in Kazakhstan, Leaving Over 40 Dead

JNS: A passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to the Russian city of Grozny, crashed near Aktau airport in Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Media reports confirm that the aircraft, carrying over 70 people, burst into flames upon impact.

The plane had been diverted to Aktau due to heavy fog in Grozny, which made it impossible to land there. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has reportedly confirmed that at least 42 people are feared dead, while 14 survivors have been found. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their response to the incident.
