Ranchi: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, successfully organized a one-day Research Facility Training Program on December 16, 2024. The event, conducted under the SERB Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) policy, focused on “Mechanistic Insight of Healing Diabetic Wounds Using Honey.”
The program, inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. Sandeep Singh Solanki, Dean of Post Graduate Studies at BIT Mesra, along with Dr. Papiya Mitra Mazumder, Head of the Department, and Dr. Bapi Gorain, Principal Investigator of the project, saw participation from around 50 attendees, including 10 researchers from external institutions.
The training provided hands-on experience in advanced research techniques, including wound creation on rats, blood glucose measurement, histopathological analysis, and 2D gel electrophoresis.
The focus was on exploring honey’s therapeutic potential in diabetic wound healing through molecular pathways, particularly the regulation of AMPK, HIF-1α, and inflammatory cytokines.
The event featured keynote addresses and interactive sessions, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration on innovative healthcare solutions. The program highlighted the role of SSR initiatives in bridging scientific research and societal healthcare advancements.
