Ashis Sinha: Bokaro girl, Madhupriya, brought laurels not only for the city but also for the State, by becoming the cover girl of the national women’s magazine ‘Vanita’.
Her picture has been printed on the cover page and a special coverage and interviews illustrated on Madhupriya were also published in the April 2019 issue of ‘Vanita’. She has achieved the highest place in about 1500 participants.
“Today’s girls have the courage to win the world. If she works hard to get anything from the heart, she will definitely achieve her target,” Madhupriya said in her gentle voice.
Her father Sanjay Kumar Jha is presently working as Deputy General Manager at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and her mother Usha Jha is a well-known writer; they originally belong to Samastipur district of Bihar.
I have done my schooling from Delhi Public School at Bokaro Steel city and presently pursuing Digital Marketing Course in Delhi, she said. “During my school life I always used to take part in several activities including sports and dance,” added Madhupriya.
My mother is my inspiration; she always encourages moving forward. Besides mother my elder sister Rashmipriya and younger sister Mahi Jha always inspired me to participate in competitions as well, she said.
For the contest for becoming the cover girl of Vanitha magazine, applications were invited from the girls aged between 18 to 25 years from 31 December 2018 and about 1470 entries were submitted for this competition.
Later, the selection committee selected the best 20 contestants on various criteria and published their photographs in the February 2019 issue of the journal and finally the cover girl was selected on the basis of voting received from the various criteria and readers of the selection, she said.
Tanushree Tyagi, Miss India 2018 runner-up honored the winner of the ‘Vanita’ cover girl contest by wearing Madhupriya a crown in Indian Women Press Corp programme organised at Windsor Place Delhi.
