CCL Hosts Stakeholders Meet to Boost Participation in Coal Washery Tenders

Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), under the guidance of Coal India Limited (CIL) organized a stakeholders’ meet today to boost participation in coal washery tenders. The event saw the attendance of over 25 companies, including coal washery operators, technology suppliers, mining, and steel-producing firms.

The program was inaugurated by M Nagaraju, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The event began with the Coal India Corporate Song, setting a formal tone for the proceedings.

Key figures present at the event included M Nagaraju (Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India), PM Prasad (Chairman, CIL), B Veera Reddy (Director Technical, CIL), Samiran Dutta (CMD BCCL & ECL), Manoj Kumar (CMD, CMPDIL), NK Singh (CMD, CCL), along with directors from CCL, CMPDI, BCCL, and officials from various CIL subsidiary companies. Satish Jha, Director Technical at CCL, welcomed the esteemed guests.

In their speeches, the dignitaries highlighted the crucial role of coal washeries in securing the future availability of steel-grade coal and addressed the need to streamline the washery tender process. CCL, BCCL, and CMPDI provided detailed presentations on various tenders, followed by an interactive session where stakeholders shared suggestions. Some issues were resolved on the spot, while others were noted for further consideration.

The event facilitated an atmosphere of information sharing and problem-solving, ensuring a smooth and productive meeting.

On this special occasion, M Nagaraju honored Vikas Kachhap, a JSSPS cadet, who won the bronze medal in the 48 kg weight category (Greco-Roman style) at the Under-17 Asian Wrestling Championship held in Jordan, Oman from June 22-30, 2024. Kachhap was congratulated and wished success in future tournaments.

Harish Duhan, Director Technical at CCL, delivered the vote of thanks, concluding the event on a positive note. Notably, JSSPS, a collaborative initiative between CCL and the Jharkhand Government, provides training in sports and academics to the youth of Jharkhand.
