Ranchi: Taking a remarkable initiative under the Vigilance Awareness Campaign, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) officials participated in a tree plantation drive at the CCL Ke Lal & CCL Ke Laadli Study Centre in Gandhinagar.
The event, held under the “Smriti Taru Initiative,” saw the planting of fruit trees by CCL’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, Director (Technical/Operations) Harish Duhan, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Pankaj Kumar.
The tree planting was part of a broader environmental awareness effort and involved Safai Karmacharis, security personnel, and students from the study centre, all of whom contributed to the planting and promoted the message of environmental conservation.
Following the plantation, CMD Singh addressed the students, motivating them to persevere and work diligently, regardless of immediate results.
He shared inspiring real-life stories of individuals who achieved success despite initial failures. During the event, students provided feedback and shared their experiences regarding the hostel facilities and their studies.
The CCL Ke Lal and CCL Ke Laadli initiative, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, offers free education to economically disadvantaged children in CCL’s command area, preparing them for engineering entrance examinations. Many beneficiaries of this scheme are now pursuing education at prestigious institutions such as IITs and NITs.
The tree plantation drive is part of CCL’s quarterly vigilance awareness campaign, which includes various programs designed to promote integrity and transparency among employees.
