Piparwar: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) has successfully revived the Piparwar Water Treatment Plant, restoring clean water access to over 2,000 families and key institutions in the Bachra township. Originally commissioned in 1992, the 0.75 MGD facility had not seen major upgrades until now.
The comprehensive renovation, led by CCL CMD N.K. Singh and Director (HR) H.N. Mishra, was executed by engineering consultancy MECON. Key upgrades included new aerators, clariflocculators, gravity sand filters, and pump systems. The modernized plant became fully operational today.
Officials from the Area Consultative and Welfare Committees inspected the revamped facility and lauded the improvements. General Manager Sanjeev Kumar emphasized that the initiative ensures safe drinking water and aligns with CCL’s broader infrastructure overhaul, which includes renovating 10 plants and building 6 new ones across its areas.
The event drew wide participation from employees, trade unions, and welfare board members, all welcoming the improved water supply system.
