People paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation and organised cleanliness drives to promote ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ to make people aware of the advantages of cleanliness on this eve.
The motto of the cleanliness drive to make the country Open Defecation Free (ODF), for which the Union Government, along with various state governments, has been constructing toilets and urinals in the remotest areas across the country.
Bokaro-based sand artist Ajay Shankar Mahto who paid tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi with a mesmerizing sand sculpture at the banks of Damodar river.
Bokaro Steel Plant’s (BSL) director in-charge Amrandu Prakash, MLAs, Zilla Parishad chairperson, Mayor CMC including others garlanded the statue of Mahatma and paid floral tributes. Several bank’s officials and others paid floral tributes to Gandhi by garlanding his portrait. A photo exhibition based on the biographic of Mahatma Gandhi was also organized on this eve at BSL.
In a bid to mark the birth anniversary of duo veteran leaders Blood Donation camps were organised in the district by several NGOs.
