Dalmia Cement East Limited (DCEL) will set up an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for Women at Bokaro. The Government has entered into a MoU with Dalmia Cement for the establishment of an ITI and the classes are proposed to start from next session, informed Mukesh Kumar Garg Unit Head of Dalmia Cement.
This would be the first industrial technical institute in the district which will impart technical education only to women in order to empower them self-reliant, he said. “Students will get campus placement facility here. Our vision is to impart systematic training to improve the quality and quantity of skilled female workers which makes better results in Industrial production too,” said an official.
The institute would be established under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the company. Desired approval has been granted for the trades of Data Entry Operator, Dress Designing, Nursing, Welder, Electrician and Food Processing, informed the official. According to the MoU 50 per cent of the seats would be filled after the recommendation of the state government while rest 50 percent by the plant (DCEL) management, he said. Exams and certification process would be conducted by the state Science and Technology department.
