New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who took oath earlier this week, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Saturday.
Sharing pictures from her visit on social media platform X, Gupta described it as a courtesy call, expressing her commitment to transforming Delhi under Modi’s leadership. “Under your guidance, the BJP’s double-engine government is dedicated to public welfare and good governance,” she wrote.
Gupta and five other ministers were sworn in by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, in the presence of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several NDA leaders.
Elected from Shalimar Bagh after defeating AAP’s three-time MLA Bandana Kumari, Gupta became Delhi’s fourth woman Chief Minister. She follows the legacy of Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi.
Gupta succeeded Atishi, who took over from AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal last year after he stepped down amid corruption allegations.
