Bokaro : Shashwat Kumar, an alumnus of Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro (2008 batch) and presently Superintendent of Police (SP) of Gomti district in Tripura, addressed the students of DPS, B. S. City on Saturday and shared his old memories with the students and teachers. On this occasion, he taught the students the tricks of success in every field of life along with examinations. In the Guest Speaker Programme, he guided the students of class 12 on how to choose a career, proper preparation before the exam and tips for success in the Union Public Service Commission, Civil Services (UPSC, CSE) Examination. He told the children that time-management is most important for studies along with hard work. He said, “School is a world of experiences, from where the lessons learnt are useful in all walks of life.” He shared that his sojourn with DPS Bokaro has been an important milestone of his life. He advised the students to choose the field in which they want to make their career on the basis of their passion to excellence.
He added that difficulties are a part of life but success lies in overcoming them confidently. He advised students to learn from the mistakes of others as “Life is your, the responsibility is your, so the decision should also be your.”
Answering the queries of the students he explained the importance of 10th & 12th marks in engineering, medical, UPSC and other examinations. He said that mental strength, dedication and passion are necessary ingredients to become an IPS Officer.
Shashwat is an IPS officer of 2016 batch. He studied at DPS Bokaro from the year 1997 to 2008 and has completed his engineering in electronic & instrumentation.
