DPS Bokaro fosters curiosity through educational field excursions to science centres

JNS I Bokaro: In a bid to nurture curiosity and inspire scientific exploration among its students, DPS Bokaro orchestrated exhilarating school trips to two prominent science centers.

A total of 184 students from Classes VII and VIII embarked on a captivating journey to the Ranchi Science Centre, while 195 enthusiastic students from Class V ventured to the Purulia Science Centre.

These educational sojourns left an enduring impact on both the students and their teachers, underscoring the school’s commitment to holistic education.

The Ranchi Science Centre, situated in the heart of the city, unveiled a world of interactive exhibits, captivating demonstrations, and hands-on activities that left young minds spellbound. Students delved into diverse scientific domains, from physics and chemistry to biology, all in an engaging and enjoyable manner.

A standout moment during the Ranchi Science Centre visit was the planetarium show. Students were transported on a mesmerising voyage through the cosmos, gazing at stars and planets while simultaneously gaining insights into the marvels of space.

The trip also encompassed a visit to the science park, where students had the chance to experiment with simple machines and optical illusions.

The Purulia Science Centre Expedition proved equally enlightening, with 195 eager Class V students immersing themselves in the world of science. Nestled in the tranquil town of Purulia, this science center provided an ideal setting for young learners to unravel the wonders of science.

Students explored scientific concepts like the Evolution of Life and high-voltage shock waves and watched compelling 3D displays and exhibitions on geology, astronomy, and biology.

The center’s immersive learning atmosphere made pupils appreciate science’s complexity.

These school vacations were more than just fun—they were part of the curriculum. These excursions increased students’ understanding, stimulated critical thinking, and made them question the world. Learning science and problem-solving through hands-on experiences was unique.

Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, underscored the significance of such excursions in deepening students’ comprehension of science and kindling a passion for learning.

He emphasized that the interactive and immersive encounters had a profound impact on the student’s academic development. These trips exemplify the school’s unwavering dedication to providing holistic education and inspiring young minds to explore the captivating realms of science.
