DPS Chas Hosts Seminar on New Age Parenting and Strategies to Excel in Board Exams

Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Chas recently organized a seminar for parents titled “New Age Parenting for IIT-AIIMS-IIM and Strategies to Excel in Board Examinations” at the S.R. Ranganathan Hall. The session aimed to equip both parents and students with valuable insights into contemporary career options and effective strategies for excelling in board exams.

Renowned career counselor, Mr. Vikas Kumar, founder of the Psychographic Society and one of India’s top eight career counselors, was the keynote speaker at the event. Kumar, a respected figure in the field, provided expert guidance on navigating 21st-century career paths, including engineering, medicine, law (CLAT), and other emerging options.

During the session, Kumar urged students to focus on “smart work” rather than just hard work, emphasizing the importance of goal setting, managing one’s mindset, and practicing digital fasting to maintain focus and mental clarity. He also advised parents to adopt new approaches to parenting, encouraging them to shift their perspectives to better support their children’s growth and success.

The seminar included an interactive Q&A session, where parents and students had the opportunity to engage directly with Kumar and clarify their doubts about various career trajectories and examination strategies.

Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, the Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, highlighted the value of such sessions in helping students clarify their career goals and make informed decisions about their futures. “Sessions like these provide students with the guidance they need to chart a clear path for their academic and professional success,” she said.

The seminar was also attended by Pro-Vice Chairman N. Murlidharan and Director Dr. Manisha Tiwari, both of whom praised the session’s success and assured that more such sessions would be organized in the future to benefit both students and parents.
