Odisha: The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted a flight test of the RudraM-II air-to-surface missile. The test took place from the Su-30 MK-I platform of the Indian Air Force (IAF) off the coast of Odisha at approximately 11:30 AM on May 29, 2024.
The test met all objectives, validating the missile’s propulsion system and control and guidance algorithms. The performance was confirmed through flight data captured by a range of tracking instruments, including electro-optical systems, radar, and telemetry stations deployed by the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur and on-board a ship.
RudraM-II is an indigenously developed, solid-propelled missile designed for air-to-surface roles, capable of neutralizing various enemy assets. The missile incorporates numerous state-of-the-art indigenous technologies developed by various DRDO laboratories.
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, the IAF, and the industry on the successful test flight, stating that the successful test has solidified the role of the RudraM-II system as a significant force multiplier for the Armed Forces.
