New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today described the Mahakumbh as a “Mahayagya of Unity” and expressed India’s pride in its rich heritage, noting that the nation is moving forward with renewed energy.
In a blog post marking the event’s conclusion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled it ‘Mahakumbh of Unity – Ahaat of Yug Parivartan.’ He described the gathering as a “Maha Yagya of Unity” and emphasized that when a nation awakens to new consciousness and sheds centuries of subjugation, such an event unfolds. PM Modi also offered an apology to Maa Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati for any shortcomings in worship or service during the event.
Modi pointed out that no event in the world can match the scale of the Mahakumbh, which after 144 years, has sent a powerful new message of “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He emphasized that millions of people from across the country came together at the confluence of the rivers in Prayagraj without any formal invitation or prior communication. Yet, they arrived on their own to experience the bliss of taking a holy dip in the sacred waters.
The Prime Minister expressed how unforgettable the faces of the devotees were, radiating immense joy and satisfaction after their spiritual journey. He also acknowledged the diverse group of participants, including women, the elderly, and people with disabilities, who all made their way to the Sangam to take part in the sacred ritual.
