Bokaro: : ESL marked National Safety Day 2025 with a week-long series of impactful events aimed at reinforcing the company’s commitment to safety, employee well-being, and community awareness. The celebrations included a range of activities designed to engage employees, leadership, and the local community.
The inaugural ceremony featured the Leadership Team, who kick-started the event with a safety contact, lamp lighting, and flag hoisting, symbolizing ESL’s dedication to maintaining a safe work environment. The ceremony also included a speech emphasizing the importance of safety, followed by a safety oath taken by over 200 participants. The event culminated in a tree plantation ceremony, further highlighting ESL’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
As part of the safety week, ESL organized a Safety Awareness Rally from RMHS to 47 Khata, which saw the participation of over 700 members, spreading awareness about safe practices across the area. In addition, a CSR activity at Madhunia High School and Yogidih High School engaged more than 200 students in interactive sessions focused on fire safety, electrical safety, and off-site safety protocols, helping promote safety awareness among the younger generation.
ESL also held several competitions, including a treasure hunt, safety slogan and poster competition, and an offline quiz, with participation from over 700 employees. These activities aimed to reinforce safety practices across departments. Additionally, online quizzes, videography competitions, and hazard-hunting activities involved over 250 ESL employees, encouraging a culture of vigilance. A safety feedback program was also conducted to collect valuable insights for enhancing ESL’s safety standards.

Speaking at the event, Tapesh Chandra Naskar, Director of Central Engineering & HSES at ESL, said, “At ESL, safety is not just a priority; it is a core value embedded in our work culture. The closing ceremony of National Safety Week was chaired by Deputy CEO and WTD Ravish Sharma, and attended by over 250 participants. The ceremony featured a safety contact on road safety, lamp lighting, a Nukkad Natak (street play), and a safety song performance, using creative expression to spread awareness. The event concluded with a brief address by the leadership team and the distribution of prizes to all competition winners.
