JNS: The two-day Capacity Building Programme of teachers on ‘Experiential Learning’ concluded on Sunday with various interesting activities at DPS Bokaro.
The programme organized in line with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by the CBSE’s Center of Excellence (CoE), Patna helped the teachers in designing SMART learning outcomes.
More than 60 participating teachers from different schools of Bokaro District learnt various aspects of experience-based learning during the two-day session.
The Resource Persons Saoli Dutta, Principal, Bal Bharti Public School, Aurangabad (Bihar) and Premlata Kumari, HOD (English) Vidya Vikas Public School, Ranchi, shared important tips to enhance the talents of children outside the classroom and the world of books.
Interesting and simple learning tricks were taught to the teachers through activities related to different teaching parameters including theme-wise, topic-based poster-making, presentation of topics selected from newspapers etc.
The Resource Persons said that every child is talented. Everyone has some speciality and there are limitless career possibilities in various fields. There are many dimensions of career selection including sports, music, journalism etc. Giving information about the criteria of these dimensions, Saoli and Premlata emphasized guiding the learners according to the talent and interest of the children.
They emphasized developing the multiple intelligence of an individual. They elaborated the formula of ‘Specific goal, Activity, Reflection, Conceptualising and Recreating’ in Experiential Learning.
In the concluding session of the programme, the presentations of the participating teachers were evaluated and their feedback was taken. Participants answered an MCQ-based assessment.
