Bokaro: FIRs have been booked against five persons who were found roaming by violating home-quarantine norms, said Rajesh Kumar Singh Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
In order to conduct random monitoring of passengers who rushed to the district from outside Jharkhand, a total of 5 persons were found moving out of their houses violating the norms of home quarantine, said DC.
They were found moving out in the market place; thus the danger of a possible spread of Coronavirus cannot be ruled out, said an official.
Taking stringent action, FIRs have been lodged in the City police station under Section 51 (B) of the IPC and the Disaster Management Act, 2005 for violation of lockdown by Sub Inspector Revenue Department Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the direction of the Circle Officer Chas, he informed.
Cases have been lodged against Ranjit Kumar and Rakesh Kumar resident of Cooperative Colony and Sannaullah, Mohammad Omar Ali and Ramin Muzaffar resident of Qr, No. 17 of Sector-3B, Bokaro Steel City, said the official.
Inter-state returnees and the secondary contacts of the infected have been kept under 14-days home quarantine instead of institutional quarantine. Cases have been filed as they violated quarantine norms, said Kumar.
“Compliance of the SOP issued by the Department of Home Affairs and Disaster Management issued by the Government of Jharkhand is essential to prevent infection of COVID-19 epidemic,” he added.
Bokaro saw a huge spurt in fresh COVID-19 cases during the past few weeks. Around 22 new Coronavirus positive cases have been reported in the district on Thursday late night. Though, 55 persons were discharged form COVID Hospital Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) and COVID Care Center Bokaro after they were tested negative for the Sars-Cov-2 virus for the second time and sent back to their home after recovering fully, said AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.
Expressing concern over the spurt in Coronavirus positive cases in the district Bokaro Pathak said, everyone needs to be vigilant. Most of the cases are from Bokaro urban areas; hence more security and vigilance are necessary. He urged that everybody must apply a mask, follow social distance, and wash their hands with soap. The best way is that all of you stay safe in your own homes.
So far 733 corona cases have been reported in the district by till date, out of which 539 were recovered and discharged form isolation and COVID care centers.
While the death toll rushed to six in the district, informed Pathak.
