Free 15-Day Mithila Painting Workshop Inaugurated in Bokaro

Bokaro: A 15-day free Mithila (Madhubani) painting training workshop commenced on Thursday under the Kumarya Foundation in Bokaro Steel City. The workshop, organized in Sector-5 and Cooperative Colony, is being led by Raj Ranu, Basant Pandit, Arun Kumar Sahni, and Ruchi Prerna.

The event was inaugurated by the chief guest Seema Jha, president of Mithila Mahila Samiti, along with litterateur Arun Pathak and Dr. Neelam Sinha, who distributed kits to the participants.

A total of 60 trainees are enrolled in the workshop, where renowned Mithila painting artist Ruchi Prerna is providing hands-on training. Upon completion, all participants will receive certificates.

Seema Jha emphasized the unique features of Mithila painting during the inaugural ceremony, highlighting its cultural significance.

Notably, Madhubani painting is a traditional Indian art form that originated in the Mithila region of Bihar. It’s known for its vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and depictions of nature, mythology, and daily life.

Madhubani paintings have inspired fashion designers, and the art form is now used on clothing, home decor, and other goods.
