Ranchi: The much-awaited CCL Inter-Regional Hockey Festival 2024 took place from 26th to 29th December at the Giddi-‘C’ Football Stadium in Argada Area.
A total of 12 teams from various command areas of CCL participated in this prestigious tournament, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship in an exciting series of matches.
The tournament was inaugurated on 26th December by Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, General Manager of Argada Area.
The league-format matches were filled with thrilling performances, with players displaying impressive sportsmanship throughout.
The semi-finals, held on 28 December, saw the teams from Barka Sayal Area and Hazaribagh Area excel, securing spots in the final.
The final match on 29 December was an intense showdown, with the Hazaribagh team emerging victorious. They defeated the Barka Sayal team by a narrow margin of 1-0 to claim the championship title. The closing ceremony, which followed the final, was graced by CCL Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra, who congratulated the players and emphasized the importance of sportsmanship.
Anand Kumar of Hazaribagh Region was honored with both the “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series” awards for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
Gunilal Manjhi of Hazaribagh was recognized as the “Best Goalkeeper,” while Ramesh Hansda of Barka Sayal received the “Best Defender” award. The “Best Striker” award was presented to Raju Murmu, also from Barka Sayal.
In a special moment during the ceremony, the responsibility of hosting the next year’s CCL Inter-Zonal Hockey Festival was handed over to the Hazaribagh Region.
Director Harsh Nath Mishra motivated the players, coaches, and teams to continue promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The event not only highlighted the talent and teamwork of the players but also strengthened the bonds of mutual respect and dedication within the CCL community.
