Burnpur: A team of three employees from SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant has qualified the Asian Management Games 2018 held in Macau on 25 August and selected to represent India in the Global Management challenge – 2018, said an official.
The team comprising of Rakesh Roshan, Manager (Materials Management), Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Manager (Projects) and Diwakar Kumar, Deputy Manager (Projects) of IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), Burnpur stood first among Indian teams, giving a tough fight to eight teams from representing Asian regions of India, Hong Kong, Macau, Pakistan, Philipines and others, informed PR official of IISCO Steel Plant. “All three will represent India in the Global Management challenge 2018,” he added.
Playing the game within a tight time schedule, the winning team had a take a total of sixty-six crucial management decisions to maximise the share price of their company in a simulated business environment.
The six-day long management simulation game focused on the abilities of the participating teams to manage various functions of the company like raw materials procurement, production, logistics, HR management, marketing, sales, distribution including others, said the official.
CEO (ISP) Anirban Dasgupta congratulated the team members on their exemplary performance and assured them of all support for the Global Management Challenge.
“This team from ISP had earlier won the National Competition for Business Management Simulation Game 2018 held at New Delhi on 13 July to represent India in the Asian Management Games, 2018. The grand finale of the Global Management Challenge is scheduled to be held in Russia, in June next year,” added the PR official.
