JNS: A two-day orientation session for new students inaugurated at IIT-ISM to officially welcome them into the system and familiarize them with the institute’s academic, student welfare, and managerial procedures.
Around 1033 students got admitted into the B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech programmes, with 43 more students being admitted into B.Tech through preparatory this year. The first day of the orientation event attracted about 1000 students, informed Rajni Singh, Media Cell Chairperson, IIT ISM.
The session began with Professor Chiranjeev Kumar, Dean Academic’s address to the students. Following the briefing and evaluation methods, Professor Rajiv Shekhar Director IIT-ISM addressed the students, talked about the campus and its resources, and wished the students luck for a joyful and prosperous academic year on campus.
Later, the Dean of Students’ Welfare, Professor MK Singh briefed about the various student groups on campus and other opportunities for fellowships and scholarships. During the introduction session, questions from students and parents were also answered.
Professor Keka Ojha, Associate Dean (UG) coordinated the event, while Professor Abhishek Kumar Singh managed the IT support system.
