Dhanbad: Professor Prasoon Kumar Singh from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has been honoured with the Groundwater Excellence Award by the Indian National Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (INC of IA H). The award recognizes his significant contributions to groundwater science and sustainable management.
The award will be presented at the INC IAH National Seminar on March 1-2, 2025, at Amity University, Jaipur. Professor Singh’s selection was based on recommendations from a distinguished jury.
A renowned researcher, Prof. Singh was recently appointed Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Accreditation Scheme for Prospecting Agencies and Mining Plan Preparing Agencies by QCI-NABET, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He is also an expert in Geology, Land Use, and Hydrogeology, specializing in Environmental Impact Assessments.
Prof. Singh has mentored over 22 Ph.D. scholars and his research covers key areas such as groundwater quality, environmental hydrogeology, and GIS applications. This award celebrates his enduring commitment to advancing groundwater science.
