Ranchi: The three-day International Conference on Emerging Trends in Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials (ETCEAM-2024) officially commenced today at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. The event, which runs until Sunday, brings together leading researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students to explore the latest developments in chemical engineering and advanced materials.
The conference was inaugurated by Professor Akhil K. Sen, with BIT Mesra’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Indranil Manna, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to advancing research excellence. In his speech, Prof. Manna highlighted BIT Mesra’s ongoing efforts to foster innovation in these critical fields.
Keynote addresses featured Sandip Kumar Kar, Executive Director of RDCIS, SAIL, who shared his expert insights into India’s iron and steel industry. Professor Vinay A. Juvekar, Emeritus Fellow at IIT Bombay, also took the stage to discuss emerging trends in chemical engineering.
The conference covers a wide range of topics including renewable energy, waste valorization, microfluidics, and biotechnology. A special Poster Presentation Session was organized, allowing young researchers to showcase their innovative work and engage directly with experts in the field.
