J.R.D TATA Vanijya Lab inaugurated at DPS Bokaro to help students

JSN I Bokaro: Aiming to facilitate and help the students to overcome the challenges of the current education system and introduce them to a dynamic environment where they can experiment, innovate, and learn, a Commerce Lab— J.R.D TATA Vanijya Lab inaugurated at DPS Bokaro on Friday.

As it is completely focused on “Gamification Pedagogy,” which ensures maximum engagement to make teaching and learning effective, the Lab strives to increase the happiness factor of its students, informed a Public Relations official of the school.

This is one of the ways that it accomplishes this goal. It has been ensured that each and every game and activity is responsive, immersive, and offers a learning environment that is equal and promotes students to become autonomous learners, said the official.

Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (Finance and Accounts), Bokaro Steel Plant and Member, School Managing Committee was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Soumen Chakraborty, Principal, GGPS-Sec V, Fr. Regi C Varghese, Principal, MGM Higher Secondary School, Sec IV, Kamla Paul, Principal, Holy Cross School, Balidih and S K Mishra, Principal, DAV Sec-VI were present on the occasion.

Addressing the students the Chief Guest said that in the present scenario it is very essential that students develop an investing mindset. Students should understand the importance of money and the need to invest in order to reap benefits.

“This will enable them to be financially free at an early age and they can explore the various opportunities confidently. Every student irrespective of the stream he or she is pursuing should have the knowledge of debts, equity and mutual funds.  He advised the students to participate in corporate quizzes and role plays to have a hands-on experience of the financial sector,” he added.

A. S. Gangwar, Principal DPS Bokaro, said that this commerce lab is the first of its kind. With the help of simulation games and board games, practical information about Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and various subjects of Commerce will be given to the students from class VI onwards.

This will groom students to become effective learners. It will also help in improving interpersonal relationships, teamwork skills, and money management thereby making them job-ready, he said.
