Jharkhand Cabinet Approves 30 Key Proposals

Ranchi: In a significant cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday, the Jharkhand government approved 30 major proposals aimed at enhancing various sectors.

Key decisions include:

Appointment Rules: The cabinet approved new rules for contractual appointments in government medical colleges, allowing academic staff up to the age of 70. Salaries have been set at Rs 2.50 lakh for professors, Rs 2 lakh for assistant professors, and Rs 1.5 lakh for junior assistant professors.

Chief Minister Gram Gaadi Yojana: The cabinet sanctioned the issuance of identity cards for beneficiaries under this scheme.

20-Point Program Committee: Assembly member Stephen Marandi has been appointed as the executive chairman of this committee.

Hospital Maintenance: An annual allocation of Rs 5 crore has been approved for the repair and maintenance of hospitals.

Dissolution of Advisory Board: The Jharkhand State Social Welfare Advisory Board has been dissolved. Its three members will be relocated to the Deputy Director Welfare office in Chota Nagpur.

Waste Recycling Pilot Study: A pilot study for recycling solid waste from government buildings in Ranchi will be conducted, with CSIR Durgapur tasked to prepare the detailed project report (DPR).

Corporate Officers: Services of corporate officers may now be utilized in the Industries Department in addition to existing departments like Rural Development, Finance, Agriculture, and Welfare.

Police Outposts: New police outposts have been approved for Garhwa, Bargarh, Sikri in Hazaribagh, Pargar in Kerdari, and Gundalpur in Barka village.

Increased Employee Allowances: State employee allowances have been revised. X category officers will now receive 30% instead of 27%, Y category officers 20% instead of 18%, and Z category officers 10%. Transport, guest house, and hotel allowances have also been increased.

Jharkhand Prison Service and Reform Bill 2024: The bill has been approved.

Mobile Phone Allowances: Ministers and officers of secretary rank will receive mobile phones worth up to Rs 60,000 with monthly recharge allowances of up to Rs 3,000. Special secretaries will receive phones worth up to Rs 45,000 and monthly recharges of Rs 2,000. Additional Secretaries and below will receive phones worth up to Rs 40,000 with monthly recharges of Rs 1,500, while Deputy Secretaries and below will receive phones worth up to Rs 35,000 with recharges of Rs 1,000 to Rs 750, depending on their rank.

Nursing College Establishment: Approval was given for the creation of 42 new posts for the establishment of nursing colleges at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, Hazaribagh, and West Singhbhum district medical college hospital.
