Jharkhand Government Mandates Aadhaar and Single Bank Account for Mainiya Samman Yojana

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has announced a partial amendment to the implementation of the Mainiya Samman Yojana, making the linking of a single bank account with Aadhaar mandatory for all beneficiaries starting March 2025.

This decision was approved during a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. Under the new guidelines, only those women whose bank accounts are linked to Aadhaar and who use a single account will be eligible for the benefits of the scheme.

The government explained that the move aims to bring more transparency to the scheme and prevent irregularities. By linking Aadhaar and limiting the number of accounts, officials believe it will ensure that the right beneficiaries receive the assistance, and prevent individuals from receiving benefits from multiple accounts.

In addition to the Mainiya Samman Yojana changes, the cabinet also approved 16 other agendas, including in-principle approval for the construction of the Bal Pahari Barrage under the Bal Pahari Irrigation Scheme. The meeting also decided to cancel the previous resolution regarding the salary fixation for assistants at the Jharkhand Secretariat.
