The income of framers can be doubled with the implementation of JOHAR scheme (Jharkhand’s Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Development) within the district, said MK Barnwal, Deputy Commissioner Bokaro. He was speaking on the inaugural session of the workshop organised on JOHAR scheme at Bokaro here on Sunday.
Johar scheme would be implemented in Chas, Chandankiyari, Jaridih and Paterwar blocks of the district during the current financial year, he said.
Barnawal ordered his officials and JSLPS to work accordingly for its earliest and successful implementations.
Under the scheme government aims at helping people belonging to the backward class in the society financially, informed Smita Shweta State Co-ordinator department of fisheries Jharkhand.
“By offering all possible assistance to these people our aim is to improve their social status within the coming years,” she added.
Under Johar scheme, the government aims to ensure that needy people are provided with daily needs.
The government will also offer possible financial assistance to the BPL category people and family members so they can get their daughters married at the legal age, said J Prasad.
“To take full benefit under the Johar Yojana the applicant has to be a resident of the Jharkhand state by birth. He will have to prove with his or her permanent resident-ship of the state,” he added.
The government has also made it very clear that the benefit will only be provided to the candidate or family who belongs to the BPL category, he said.
