Bokaro : With the objective to teach students the need to give back to the society positively and be the reason of someone’s smile, Joy of Giving was observed at DPS Bokaro.
Strengthening the bond of humanity, and spreading the message of love and care students of DPS Bokaro and ‘Deepansh’, a Shiksha Kendra, run under the aegis of DPS Bokaro, for the marginalised sections of the society spent the day together.
Children were elated to welcome the students of Deepansh with open arms. The school buzzed with activities which included drawing and painting by the children, antakshari rounds, games and gifting of cards and stationery along with sharing food to make them feel as one. Even the helpers of the school felt special when they were given cards as token of gratitude from the students of Classes II and III. Beautiful performances on the stage by the children ignited a feeling of oneness and unity.
Students of Deepansh participated enthusiastically in games and co-curricular activities in an inclusive manner.
The ‘Wish Tree’ was put up in each class where children pinned their wishes for bridging the gap in the community. The students donated wholeheartedly.
Principal, DPS Bokaro, A. S. Gangwar said,” learning is not complete without social commitment.” ‘Giving’ is a source of joy that can be a part of our day to day life. We strongly believe in cultivating a sense of social responsibility in students and empowering them as citizens who are a part of nation building. ‘Joy of Giving’ celebration is our humble attempt to help children realise that “it is more blessed to give than receive.” It spreads happiness.
