With an aim to create awareness amongst the youth in both artistic and cultural fields, a two- day workshop integrating coal into art-forms on canvas began today at DPS Bokaro Campus.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Raza Foundation and India Telling. The workshop educated the children about the use of charcoal and creating painting and imagery out of their imagination.
Abhishek Kashyap, writer and art critic; Amit Harit, an eminent artist from Jaipur and Lucky Jaiswal, renowned artist from Indore conducted the workshop.
It’s worth mentioning here that charcoal is a very dark pencil whose shades vary from soft to dark as per the need of the artists. Around 150 students of DPS Bokaro and DPS Chas participated in the workshop,
The Chief Guest of the occasion was N Murlidharan, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Chas.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, Director & Principal DPS Bokaro stated that such workshops help to unleash the creativity along with protecting, enhancing and creating awareness amongst youth to help in preserving coal which is the lifeline of Jharkhand’s economy.
