JNS: The Election Commission has announced that Jharkhand will participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in four phases. The voting schedule for Jharkhand was unveiled as part of the broader seven-phase election plan revealed by the Election Commission.
According to the Election Commission’s notification, the voting in Jharkhand will commence from the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The voting dates for Jharkhand are as follows:
- Phase 1: May 13 – Singhbhum, Khunti, Palamu, Lohardaga
- Phase 2: May 20 – Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh
- Phase 3: May 25 – Giridih, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur
- Phase 4: June 1 – Rajmahal, Godda, Dumka
Additionally, there will be an assembly by-election in Gandey on May 20. This seat became vacant following the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Jharkhand has a total of 14 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 elections, the NDA alliance secured 12 out of 14 seats, with the BJP winning 11 seats and AJSU winning one seat.
