Shivpuri: Madhav National Park, located in Shivpuri district, has been officially declared a tiger reserve by the state government. The announcement was made today during a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. During the event, a tigress was released into the park as part of the reserve’s launch.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed confidence that the designation would lead to an increase in the tiger population in the Chambal region. He also highlighted that the development would attract both domestic and international tourists, spurring new growth opportunities for the region.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized that the addition of tigers to the Madhav National Park, located near Kuno National Park, would further boost tourism in the area, allowing visitors the rare opportunity to see both tigers and leopards on a single trip.
Following the release of the tigress, the tiger population in the newly designated tiger reserve has now reached six. Authorities confirmed that another tiger is expected to be released in the near future, further enhancing the conservation efforts in the region.
