Morocco Earthquake: Death toll rises over 2000

JNS: Tragedy struck Morocco as the death toll from a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake continues to climb, with more than 2000 lives lost and approximately 1400 individuals reported injured. The disaster has left a trail of destruction and despair, as rescue teams scramble to reach remote areas severely affected by the quake, with fears that the casualty count may rise even further.

The catastrophic earthquake, which struck on Friday night, originated in a sparsely-populated region of the High Atlas Mountains, approximately 71 kilometers southwest of Marrakesh.
