Nation pays homage to Dr  Ambedkar on his birth anniversary today

New Delhi: The nation today commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a towering figure in the fight against social injustice.

Ceremonies and tributes were held across the country to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries including Members of Parliament and political leaders, paid floral tributes at his statue in the Parliament House complex. Additional tributes were offered at his portrait in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Union Ministers, and leaders from various parties.

In her message to the nation, President Murmu hailed Dr. Ambedkar as a visionary economist, jurist, educationist, and a relentless champion for the rights of the oppressed. She emphasized his belief in education as a catalyst for empowerment and social change, urging citizens to embrace his ideals of equality, justice, and harmony.

Dr. Ambedkar, who rose from humble beginnings to become India’s first Law Minister, was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990. His tireless efforts toward building an inclusive society continue to inspire generations.
