New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented a nationwide increase in toll charges by 4 to 5 percent, effective immediately. The hike is aimed at funding the maintenance and expansion of the country’s highways.
On the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, tolls for cars traveling from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut will rise from Rs 165 to Rs 170, while the charge for the Ghaziabad to Meerut stretch will increase from Rs 70 to Rs 75. Trucks on this route will now face a toll of Rs 580.
Toll rates on highways around Lucknow, including routes leading to Kanpur, Ayodhya, Raebareli, and Barabanki, will see increases of Rs 5-10 for light vehicles and Rs 20-25 for heavy vehicles. Additionally, the monthly pass for cars will rise from Rs 930 to Rs 950.
These revised toll rates apply to expressways and national highways across the nation.
