Ashis Sinha I Bokaro: Amidst Coronavirus pandemic, Indians are increasingly making their bill payments online. Recognizing the traction in this trend, a Bihar-born youth on move to provide a smart mobile application for the newspaper hawkers which will help them a hassle-free payment collection across the country.
Kumar Gaurav, developed “e-Hawker”- an Android-based application to help the newspaper hawkers. Behind developing this application my motto is to reduce the problems for both hawkers and customers, said Gaurav.
“This will provide them a much digitise payment collection experience,” he added.
Currently, this software is on trial, might be launched in the first week of July, said Gaurav during a meeting in Bokaro Steel City on Sunday. He was on his way to home town from Dhanbad.
This app will be available at Google Play Store and can be downloaded; the facility will be available to the hawker on the payment of Rs 3 per month as charges, he said.
It helps the hawkers to rid of the door-to-door collection of the bills (money) while on the other hand buyers (newspaper) will not have to wake up in the morning to pay this small amount of the bill, he said.
The SMS of the bill amount will be automatically sent to the customers on the last day of the month and a payment gateway will open as soon as you click on the link given in the SMS and customers will be able to pay the amount quite easily, said Gaurav.
The same message will be sent to both hawker and the customer as soon as payment is made and the customer’s name will be removed from the dues page. Very easily, anytime a hawker will be able to know how many customers still have the amount left. If he wants, he can send SMS again to their costumers too, he said.
“Every payment will be 100 per cent safe and secure for those who will make the payment or who will receive the payments through this application. HDFC and ICICI banks have been tied up for the payment gateway, added Gaurav.
This app will also helpful in case a hawker gets sick. With the help of this app, any family member or other hawker can be able to distribute newspapers by visiting the addresses of all customers, he said.
We are also at work to provide scholarships to the children of the hawkers. Those who will not be able to teach their children will be assisted, said Gaurav.
