Bokaro: The day-two of the cultural week at DPS Bokaro witnessed an amazing synchronization of rhythm and euphony where the participants of Inter-House Orchestra Competition performed on the theme ‘Indian Folk Music’. The Cultural Week commenced on Saturday with an enthralling orchestral performance by a group of 50 students.
Sutlej House emerged as the winner; they performed on the theme ‘Bhangra’ while Jamuna secured the second position with their theme being ‘Lavani’. The third position was shared by Ganga and Jhelum House with ‘Chotanagpuri’ and ‘Garba’ theme respectively.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Chinu Tandon. She said that not only as a Chief Guest but also as a parent, she is highly impressed by the mesmerizing performance of the students who were completely involved to put their best foot forward. She added that no one can impose culture on any individual, culture is imbibed. If one wants to preserve culture one must cultivate it.
Addressing the gathering Principal DPS Bokaro A.S. Gangwar said music is divine and it connects the mortal to the eternal. Appreciating the dedication and hard work of the students and mentors, he remarked “There is no short cut to success and one must be humble, honest and hardworking to achieve success in life.”
