JNS: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a strong stance against Pakistan, accusing it of not learning from past conflicts and continuing to engage in proxy wars through terrorism.

Speaking at the War Memorial in Drass, Modi vowed that Indian forces would not tolerate any resurgence of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and would confront any efforts to destabilize the region with full force.

Modi paid tribute to the fallen soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War and highlighted the victory as a remarkable example of “truth, restraint, and strength.”

He criticized Pakistan for its deceitful actions during a time when India was making sincere efforts to maintain peace, asserting that “falsehood and terror were defeated by truth.”

The Prime Minister condemned Pakistan’s ongoing use of terrorism and proxy wars, emphasizing that past defeats have not deterred the country. He asserted that India’s brave forces are prepared to thwart any terror attempts, stating, “Our bravehearts will crush all terror efforts.”

Modi reiterated India’s determination to overcome challenges in regions such as Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, and reminded the public that August 5 will mark the fifth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates the day in 1999 when India successfully reclaimed high-altitude positions lost to Pakistani intruders.

PM Modi will also commence construction work for the Shinkun La Tunnel Project today. Prime Minister will virtually carry out the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel Project.

This project is important to improve connectivity to Leh, especially during bad weather. This 4.1 Kilometer long twin tube tunnel will be constructed at an altitude of around Fifteen thousand 800 feet on the Nimu-Padum-Darcha Road to provide all weather connectivity to Leh.

Once completed, it will be the highest tunnel in the world. Shinkun La tunnel will not only ensure swift and efficient movement of our armed forces and equipment but also foster economic and social development in Ladakh.
