PM Modi Begins Historic Two-Day Visit to Kuwait

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kuwait for a two-day official visit, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years. The visit comes at the invitation of Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait.

In a statement upon departure, PM Modi emphasized the deep historical ties between India and Kuwait, highlighting the longstanding relationship that has flourished over generations. He noted that both countries are not only strong partners in trade and energy but also share common interests in fostering peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the West Asia region.

The Prime Minister expressed his anticipation of fruitful discussions with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, aiming to establish a strategic roadmap for a future-focused partnership that benefits both nations and the wider region. PM Modi also shared his enthusiasm for meeting the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, acknowledging their significant contribution to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership for inviting him to the inauguration of the Arabian Gulf Cup, a premier sporting event in the region. The Prime Minister looks forward to celebrating athletic excellence and regional unity at the event.

This visit is expected to deepen the ties between India and Kuwait, reinforcing their strong bonds of friendship and cooperation.
